All of the doors pictured were constructed from pieced materials and door blanks that were 2 ½ inches thick and 7 to 8 feet tall. The doors needed to be perfectly hinged so that the mortise lock and interlocking threshold would operate properly. The transoms and glass were also part of the task. All the interior and exterior components were milled on the job. With each door, precise preparation was taken to insure a weather-tight fit and years of smooth service.
Cynergy loves the challenge of stairs! Stairs tend to be an aesthetic focal point of a home and we enjoy seeing our craftsmanship come alive as a part of an overall vision.
The stairs with the glass panels involved 3 levels with two sections of stairs and a two part landing for each floor. They reached the top floor with a large open view to the ground floor. The newels were made up using white oak and the newel in the center was 28 feet long! Another set of stairs pictured involved three floor levels and were made completely on the job, mortised and tendoned with 3 x 16 glue lams for stringers and 2 x 12 glue lams for treads. All three levels had to accommodate various types of finished floors. The estimated weight of each set was well over 1800 pounds!
